SAVAS, Bordeaux-based since the 1960s
SAVAS (Société d’Approvisionnement de Vins, d’Alcools et de Spiritueux), founded in 1975 by Evelyne Courriades and François George, has been active in the Bordeaux wine trade since the 1960s. From the very beginning, we have distinguished ourselves through the creation of tailor-made wine brands designed to meet the expectations of our partners in France and worldwide. Today, exports account for 90% of our turnover, with a strong presence in the United States (Trader Joe’s, Costco, Whole Foods…), Africa (Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal), Asia (Japan: Belluna, Daisei, Royal of Japan, Unique Fine Wines…), Europe, United Kingdom (Laithwaites, Fines Wine Direct). In France, our wines are distributed through major retailers (Carrefour, Casino, Auchan, Leclerc…), leading e-commerce platforms (Mondowine, Cdiscount, Veepee, La Vignery), as well as the on-trade sector.
1965
"Le Caveau des Capucins"
It all began in 1965 with the purchase of a small shop at the Capucins market in central Bordeaux, where the CASH & CARRY Le Caveau des Capucins was created, specializing in the sale of wines and spirits.
1975
Foundation of SAVAS
In 1975, SAVAS was officially created, marking the company’s entry into the Bordeaux wine trade and wholesale distribution. This milestone also saw the launch and deployment of its first proprietary brands, laying the foundations for the long-term development of the company’s portfolio.
1991
Expansion into International Markets
From 1992 onward, SAVAS expanded its reach beyond France. After establishing strong partnerships with major French retailers, the company began developing its international presence, exporting Bordeaux wines to markets around the world.
